Each one of us helps fuel CDPC’s creative culture and is dedicated to solving the unique challenges of our clients in the most effective way imaginable. We integrate our projects with a group of experienced designers who view these challenges with new perspective and further thinking resulting in one-of-a-kind design solutions. We select team members who are best suited to deal with the challenges of each projects’ unique requirements.

Kevin Grochau | Associate Landscape Architect

Kevin joined CDPC to lead the team in our Central California office after a long career in his own successful firm. Kevin’s contributions includes over 30 years of hands-on Landscape Architecture experience in irrigation design, grading and construction plans, site planning, re-vegetation and conservation management. 

Jennifer Frederick | Director of Design

Jennifer has been with CDPC over 17 years and recently promoted to Director of Design. Jennifer is an enthusiastic designer and contributor, winning several industry awards for her contributions in landscape design. Her love of landscape architecture is a great influence in her work and inspires her to create new and exciting designs in a broad range of industry sectors. She is skilled project manager with a forte in creative problem solving and client relations. Jennifer holds a BS in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and also studied abroad in Florence, Italy.

Masumi Ozawa | Landscape Architect | Senior Project Manager

Masumi possesses a keen sense of design, style and a sharp eye for detail. Her strong sense of site and planting schemes, creativity and vibrant designs, together with her love of Landscape Architecture makes her an invaluable contributor to all of CDPC’s projects and clients. By utilizing her twenty-five plus years of industry experience and her cultural influences, Masumi infuses a fresh perspective to the conceptual design process. As project manager she pays close attention to production quality control, budget considerations and performance schedules. Masumi’s passion is evident in the creative outdoor environments she designs. Masumi is a Registered Landscape Architect in California and earned a BA in Fine Art from Chadron State College in Nebraska and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University.

Erik Peterson | Senior Project Manager

Erik is an accomplished landscape designer and project manager. With 15 years of experience under his belt, Erik is a driving force behind the successful completion of many projects at CDPC. His passion for combining the art of environmental design with the practical aspects of planning and construction make him an invaluable member of our team. In addition to Erik’s well-refined technical abilities, he also possess the ability to monitor jobs and keep them on-schedule and on-budget. Erik’s contributions to the extensive Mariners Church project showcased his ability to excel at challenging design elements while moving quickly through the ongoing phases of construction. Erik earned a BS in Landscape Architecture from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is waiting on CLARB Certification.

John Palisin | Project Manager

John is a results-orientated Project Manager who uses his 16 years of industry experience along with his organizational and time management skills to successfully manage projects of varying size and complexity. His natural design sensibility allows him to assess requirements, analyze the course of action and set priorities for the completion of projects within time and budget objectives. John is involved in all areas of the project including concept, construction phase services and contract administration. His passion for Landscape Architecture is evident by his integrity, enthusiasm and love for his work. John earned a BS in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly, Pomona.

Vianey Minjarez | Project Manager

Vianey earned her bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona.  She has over a decade of design experience in Southern California and a lifelong love of world exploration covering 47 countries throughout her many years of travel. These experiences influence her creativity and help her add interest to her projects. Creative design and exploration is what keeps her inner fire and spirit alive. Design is noted and appreciated by her not only through the built environment but also through the natural landscape and its gorgeous forms.

Roderick Horne | Job Captain

Roderick works in CDPC's Central California Office and prepares construction documents for most projects in the Central and Northern California area. He has 9 years of landscape design experience and utilizes his background in construction work to efficiently prepare CD's. Roderick is an avid outdoorsman spending his free time camping and traveling with his family. Roderick received his BS in Landscape Architecuture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. 

Joseph Starbuck | Job Captain

Joseph Starbuck is a Job Captain with 3 years of landscape design experience and as well as a strong understanding of water conservation. Joseph received his Bachelors in Landscape Architecture and his BS in Environmental Design from North Dakota State University; subsequently he received his Masters in Environmental Studies from Tel Aviv University in Israel. Enthusiastic about placemaking, Joseph offers up creative design solutions often inspired by his passion for travelling and experiencing different cultures.

Vincent Rojas | Job Captain

Vincent Rojas has over 5 years of practical experience in landscape design and focuses his attention on the details which make a space work. The idea of form following function has always been key to his design process. Vince graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a BS in Landscape Architecture and is excited to contribute his skills to many of CDPC’s interesting projects.

Kathleen Canta | Junior Draftsman

Kathleen graduated from Cal Poly, Pomona with a BS in Landscape Architecture and recently joined CPDC as a Junior Draftsman. She has a good graphic illustration skill set and takes pride in the quality of her work.  Kathleen is a modest but hard working professional who sets goals on becoming consistently better at what she does.

Denise Riches | Marketing Coordinator

Denise has been with CDPC for 6 years and coordinates Marketing and Business Development efforts. She has a background in newsletter production, graphic design and received an AA in Interior Design from Saddleback College. 

Sandra Milligan | Bookkeeper

Sandra’s background is diverse with 22 years as an Office Manager for a cabinet manufacturer, experience working in sales and commercial leasing. Her strong people skills and heavy experience in customer Service allow her to focus on the resolution. 

Tara Milligan | Administrative Assistant

Tara is our Administrative Assistant and greets visitors with her vibrant personality and playful nature. She efficiently processes proposals and contracts and tends to the day to day operation of the office.
